His obsessive behaviors could have taken another 1k to explore, haha.
A good idea for a what-if AU! But yeah, any environment in which he would be expected to explain his thoughts and emotions to others would have benefitted him greatly. The narrative doesn't force him to improve his communication, either. I think Fei Liu from NiF makes greater attempts to communicate his thoughts despite his limited speech capabilities than Lan Wangji ever does.
